Same old Jets, same old misery. Denver was coming off of a home loss to Oakland. They have a horrible defense. Their running game is average at best. Against the Jets they looked like world beaters. The Jets couldn’t consistenly move the ball. They couldn’t shut down Denver’s offense. They missed 2 crucial fourth down conversions. They dropped important catches. Favre missed important throws.
We knew we were in trouble when they were moving the ball well on their second possession and they went for the trick play. It would have worked but Washington muffed the lateral and then couldn’t fall on the ball. Actually he did fall on it but the ball apparently came loose and Denver picked it up and ran it in for a TD. The replay made it pretty clear — at least to me — that Washington had control of the ball on the ground Only problem was that for some weird reason the play wasn’t reviewable. Can someone please explain to me why?
I’ll write more later on, but for now is all I can say is ‘How could I have thought any different? These are the Jets after all.’ Doesn’t matter who it is we put in the green uniform, they still play like a Jet. More later…
