Jay Cutler and the Denver Broncos may be a force to be reckoned with after all. The spunky quarterback completed 27 of his 43 attempts for 357 yards in tonight’s wet and windy win at the Meadowlands over the New York Jets.

Brett Favre, on the other hand, also threw 43 times, but only connected 23 times for 247 yards.

The leading running back for both teams had 100+ yard games. Both teams had two receivers with 60+ yards. Both teams had a terrible third down conversion rate of 3 out of 11 tries.

The third ranked Jets defense, however, didn’t quite do their job. The Broncos defense scored early off a Brad Smith fumble, and they also picked off Brett Favre once, which led to a second quarter touchdown.

The halftime horn sounded with the score at 27-14, and the Jets were never able to accomplish anything worthwhile in the second half. Brandon Stokely’s 36-yard reception with 9:26 in the fourth quarter basically sealed the doom of Favre and crew.

The Jets (8-4) go on to face the 49ers (4-8), while Denver (7-5) hosts Kansas City (2-10) next week.
